Investigations of building, component and relations based on models.Context 1:100, Plaster
Sketch of how to build the negative for the model of plaster.
Using Styrofoam to create the texture of the landscape to show the relation to the context around the house.
The four windows in the living room placed in pairs in front of each other give, the otherwise very heavy building, a lighter expression.
The setting of these windows around the fireplace add a transparency to the building that can be seen as a contradiction to the heavy cliff.
The relation between the different types of windows and the different experience, looking through them.
Building 1:100, Pepakura
With inspiration from the artwork of Jesper Rasmussen we created a simplified version of the building by using Pepakura Designs.
The folded model in cardboard
Relation 1:20, Mdf model of the room with the chimney
Investigating the nostalgic self portrait of Curzio Malaparte through the fireplace in relation to the romantic, framed view through the bigger windows next to the chimney.
Sectional detail in the model to indicate the length of the channel of the chimney.
Relations 1:50, Cardboard
Investigating the atmosphere in the room by focusing on the difference between the windows in the living room.
The view in the chimney is framed symbolically through the fire and the channel around it.
The view from the other windows in this room are framed with wooden panels which indicate the experience of looking at a painting instead of a view.
